Reason for app?

I dont have a lot of space on my phone so I decided to just take a screenshot of the spc in the app. When I went to the store they said "the image isnt moving this is fake". So apparently u need to waste space on your phone just so they can see a moving image? Its ridiculous! No other card asks for something like this and they works perfectly fine... Another thing I dont understand is that they dont scan the card or anything... So why the heck does it matter if the card is fake its not going into any records???
